Roadside Problem
My Car Won't Start — What Now?
Turn the key, get nothing? Try these 3 things first — then call.

Do this right now
- Check the dashboard. If lights come on but the engine won't crank, it's usually the battery. If the dash is dead too, definitely battery.
- Make sure the shifter is fully in Park (or press the clutch on a manual). Modern cars will refuse to start otherwise.
- If you hear a rapid clicking when turning the key, it's a weak battery. If you hear one loud click and nothing else, it might be the starter.
What's usually going on
Most 'won't start' calls come down to a dead battery (roughly 70%), a bad starter, a fuel problem (empty tank, failed pump), or a security-system lockout. Age of the battery is the single biggest predictor in Texas — 3+ years and dying in warm weather is normal.
How we fix it
We can jump start the car on-site, replace the battery if the jump won't hold, deliver fuel if you're out, or tow you to a mechanic if it's beyond a roadside fix.
